The Finjan

Daveeda Shaheen was born to Syrian parents in Virginia, USA.

During her childhood Daveeda lived in Beirut, London, Switzerland and the United States, and she now travels between London, Dubai, and the United States.

Daveeda was educated at boarding school in England and Le Rosey in Switzerland and holds a multimedia degree from the Corcoran School of Art and Design in Washington D.C. She has worked as a writer and presenter for television, radio and newspapers worldwide, with a particular emphasis on art and visual culture.

Daveeda is currently project manager for the Burj Khalifa Artwork Program in Dubai, sourcing and purchasing original artwork from Middle Eastern and international artists to furnish the walls and surrounding areas of the 'tallest building in the world'.

Entrepreneurial at heart, she is founder of Tiffil Publishing, a company that works with an international network of creative companies and artists on special commissions and collaborations.

In 2003 Daveeda conceived, wrote and designed The Finjan, a unique publication exploring the culture of Arabic coffee, which she has recently published in a luxurious limited edition. Daveeda is now launching The Finjan application, which is compatible with all hand-held devices and will be available on iTunes from Spring 2011.

Daveeda supports three charities – The Four Homes of Mercy in Jerusalem, Snowflake School for Children with Autism in London, and Panthera Wildlife Conservation's campaign to save the tiger.
